It has been a great term for philanthropy in Sigma Delt. Overall, sisters did close to 400 hours in community service, both through the house and through individual organizations. We cooked for Students Fighting Hunger a number of times, an event which is always a blast. Our new pledges participated in the Out of the Darkness Walk, which raised awareness about suicide prevention and was organized by the Active Minds group on campus. As a sisterhood we raised over $300 towards the house charity for the term, which was World Partners in Education (an organization that one of our sisters is currently very involved in). Individual sisters were involved in other fundraising efforts. Some sisters participated in the DREAM Date Auction, which overall raised $1,600. Other sisters were heavily involved in fundraising for the Out of the Darkness Walk, which overall raised $5,000 towards suicide prevention. Sigma Delt also manned the canteen station at the Blood Drive, as we do on a termly basis.
Overall a great term for philanthropy – we look forward to more great events next term!
